Plant Quartet

It is springtime in New York. At 10 degrees Celsius, the evening frost has disappeared and the morning sparrows are singing. Inside a room, a narcissus, amaryllis, oleander and Easter lily are performing a quartet.











Musique Concrete

Musique Concrete is an interactive performance piece which explores sound and the urban landscape through the movements on a skateboard.

The result is a musical composition which transforms the skateboarder into a composer. It aims to provide an audience of all ages with a stimulating experience of new media,skateboarding, the city and sound.










Fire Dance

A fireplance is transformed into a music-making device. With a photoresistor, (light sensor) various tones are generated according to the intensity of the light.

Long flames render short and fast tones while weaker, less intense flames produce slow, resonating sounds. As the fire gradually dies, sounds shift from short, interrupted pulsations to slow and extended droning textures.

Rocking Chair

Oscillating back and forth on a rocking chair generates various notes on a scale. An accelerometer mounted inside the user's pocket helps detect the user's horizontal and vertical position.

At the maximum vertical position, the scale shifts up a third allowing the “rocker” to alternate between two scales.

Bike Wheel:

A bicycle wheel transformed into a musical instrument.
